Como eu posso melhorar o meu inglês?

É difícil dar conselhos sem conhecer você. Contudo , tentarei passar algumas dicas que encontrei em um outro site, de forma geral. O que pode ser interessante para outros estudantes.

Dica 1
Seja claro a respeito do porquê você estuda inglês. Você precisa para o trabalho? Para ajudar a conseguir um emprego (veja um simulado de entrevista em inglês)? Para se comunicar com falantes nativos? Para ajudar você nos estudos?

Dica 2
Qual nível você deseja atingir? Você quer ser bom na compreensão… leitura… escrita…

Dica 3
Tenha uma imagem clara de si quando tiver alcançado a máxima proficiência, ou seja, a tão sonhada fluência. O que vê? O que você ouve? Como você se sente?

Dica 4
Matricule-se em um bom curso, se não for possível, crie situações onde você poderá usar o inglês. Procure alguém que lhe dê suporte, pode ser um amigo que domina o idioma ou um professor particular.

Dica 5
Busque oportunidades de aprender e usar o inglês. Fale inglês sempre que puder, ouça rádio e CDs em inglês, leia e escreva em inglês. Se você procurar por oportunidades, você as encontrará.

Dica 6
Anote as palavras e frases novas em um caderno, fique com ele o tempo todo. Dessa forma você poderá consultar nas horas de folga.

Dica 7
Pratique, pratique e pratique… Há uma expressão em inglês que diz “Se você não quer esquecer então use”. Isso é verdadeiro em se tratando do aprendizado de um idioma estrangeiro.

Dica 8
Procure um parceiro de estudos. Procure alguém para estudar com você. Converse com ele(a), envie mensagens em inglês. Encontre parceiros de estudos nos seguintes links: Msn, Skype ou Twitter.

Dica 9
Aprenda um pouquinho todo dia. Crie o hábito de estudar inglês 10 minutos por dia, é muito melhor do que estudar 1 hora por semana.

Para concluir, ao iniciar o seu período de estudos, faça a seguinte pergunta. O que eu quero aprender hoje? Ao final dos estudos, pergunte novamente. O que eu aprendi hoje?

From the small kind gestures of friends and family members
To the unexpected help in times of great disaster in our lives

Your mercy, God, is everlasting.

Quiet our active minds as we come to you in petition.

You know the needs of our world more than we do, and you know how mind-numbing it is to hear of hunger and war and threatened ecosystems.

Help us sit in silence, now and this week, so that we can hear what you would have us do today, and tomorrow.

Give us light for the next steps in our lives as we reach out, beyond
our friends, family, and congregation.

Show us now, and each morning, whom you would have us touch with your love, overflowing out of the love we have received from you.

The Pauline Year

In June 2007, Pope Benedict XVI announced a special year dedicated to Saint Paul. The Year of Saint Paul will run from June 28, 2008, to June 29, 2009. This Jubilee Year will mark the approximate 2,000th anniversary of Saint Paul’s birth. Pope Benedict XVI also announced that the Pauline Year will be ecumenical in a special way, reflecting Saint Paul’s commitment to the unity and harmony of all Christians. In this way, the Church will be reminded of her need to be witnesses to the Gospel message.

With this web site, we invite you to also be a witness to the Gospel message by remembering Saint Paul. Here, we offer activities for students in the primary grades to junior high, a workshop for families, biographical information about Saint Paul, a prayer service and articles to assist in your reflection. You can access each section using the links on the lavendar sidebar to your left.

Throughout this year, we each will take our own journey, recalling Saint Paul's committment and rich contribution to our faith.

Titles, Dates & Addresses

There are special punctuation rules for date, names and addresses, Titles.
Rules for using commas ( , ) with dates, names and addresses:
_Dates - a comma is placed, between the day and the year, when the writing according to American English (Month, Day, Year - September 15, 2005.
* Note: If the date is written the according to Europe (Day, Month, Year), then there is no comma.
_ Days and Dates - When writing the day and the date a comma is placed after the day, and follow the rules for dates (see above).
Example: Monday, July 15, 2008
_ Titles - A comma is place after a name followed by a title.
Example: John Brown, Ph.D. Tim Lee, Jr.
_ Addresses - A comma is placed between a street and a town or city, State, and Country.
Example: 15 Fifth Avenue, Houston, England.
